About The Position

This role involves supervising the daily operations of the surveillance shift, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies. The Shift Supervisor will monitor casino activities, train and mentor surveillance staff, and promote positive public relations. This position requires handling sensitive information with confidentiality and may involve performing duties of a Surveillance Officer. Employees must adhere to specific NJ regulations (N.J.A.C. 13:69D-1.10 and 1.11) and acknowledge these requirements prior to employment in the surveillance department.

Requirements

  • Must adhere to the regulations set forth in N.J.A.C. 13:69D-1.10 and 1.11.
  • Must sign an acknowledgement of these regulatory requirements prior to being employed in the surveillance department.

Responsibilities

  • May perform duties of a Surveillance Officer.
  • Observes activities of casino guests and employees.
  • Monitors all casino operations, including table games, slots, cashiering cage and count rooms, by way of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system for criminal activity and/or violations of NJ regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Records and documents such activities where appropriate and report the activities to appropriate officials.
  • Monitors property alarms and communicates effectively with responding parties.
  • Completes detailed incident reports and daily logs.
  • Responsible for daily operations of surveillance shift, in absence of shift supervisor.
  • Assists with training and mentoring of surveillance staff.
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Handles sensitive information and maintains confidentiality.
  • Keeps team well informed of property promotions and events.
  • Develops highly skilled, successful employees, sets realistic and measurable service standards, and holds employees accountable for meeting them.
  • Addresses employee performance issues, coaches for improvement, and provides ongoing feedback.
  • Listens and responds to employees, recognizes and rewards individual and team performance.
  • Consistently follows company policies, procedures, and industry regulations, maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records, and completes performance reviews timely.
  • Supervises and trains Surveillance Officers according to standard operating procedures.
  • Observes and records any irregular activities as required.
  • Recommends policy changes to the Surveillance Manager.
  • Completes special assignments for upper management as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
