About The Position

The Shift Miller operates and maintains the flour mill under the direction of the Head Miller, helping ensure safe and efficient production and high product quality. This role supports daily milling operations and compliance with food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and perform job duties while wearing a respirator.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of material flow and manufacturing processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Mechanical aptitude and commitment to continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in flour milling, food production, or manufacturing.
• Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage flour mill and cleaning house activities during the assigned shift.
• Run milling equipment at optimal performance levels to maximize yields and product quality.
• Maintain wheat and flour inventories to required specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, sanitation requirements, and food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment.
• Complete production reports and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in required training and development programs.
• Serve as backup for the Head Miller and/or Mill Operator when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and equipment performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
