About The Position

Work Authority, a proud Canadian Company since 1938, is a leader in safety footwear and work apparel with a retail chain of stores and mobile trucks across Canada. We are seeking a Shift Lead for our Conception Bay South location. This part-time role is responsible for overseeing store operations during assigned shifts, motivating the team, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, driving sales, and maintaining visual merchandising standards. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • A minimum of at least 2 years retail experience
  • Proficiency in using a point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Candidates should be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and weekdays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of retail associates, providing guidance, coaching and support on assigned shifts.
  • Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring smooth store operations during shift.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and act as a role model for the store team.
  • Ensure all customers are greeted warmly and receive prompt assistance.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Achieve sales targets by motivating the team to provide exceptional sales experiences.
  • Train and coach associates on effective sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Ensure the store is clean, always organized and visually appealing.
  • Responsible for the store’s opening and closing procedures.
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise.
  • Provide customers with a hassle-free experience when they need to exchange or return products.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and store operational guidelines.
  • Adhere to loss prevention guidelines to minimize theft and maximize store profitability.
