About The Position

The Shift Lead is the liaison between the operations floor and the Shift Supervisor. This role is responsible for acting as an example to the production team in terms of safety and quality, and also serves as a liaison between their team and the Safety/Quality Manager(s). The Shift Lead guides the efforts of the production team to ensure employee protection and that facilities are safe, clean, and secure. They are responsible for training new and reassigned personnel in the safe execution of their duties. The Shift Lead must receive, acknowledge, deliver, and actively support company goals and objectives through direct communication and by exemplifying their execution. This role is responsible for the efficiencies of the production team, ensuring their teams achieve company goals and objectives related to safety, quality, speed, delivery, and cost. The Shift Lead drives continuous improvement activities to achieve manufacturing excellence by leading and reinforcing a Lean Culture. They contribute to the development and establishment of clear performance metrics for their team and address deficiencies in personnel performance through training, coaching, and the progressive discipline process. Other duties may be required by management.

Requirements

  • Able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to create and execute projects/plans and contribute to the development of tactical plans using the appropriate decisions and priorities.
  • Proven experience in optimizing operational organizations to minimize cost per pound.
  • Ability to effectively coach team members and provide performance feedback and development opportunities within areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to drive results and perform in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
  • Detailed oriented, process driven, with effective planning and implementation skill sets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team leader/member with a diverse group of people at all levels within the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing other duties as required by management.
