About The Position

At Valley Steps, Shift Leads play a vital role in creating a stable, supportive environment for both clients and staff. By guiding daily operations, mentoring team members, and providing direct support to clients, you'll help ensure each shift runs smoothly while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional care. The Shift Lead supports unit leadership with the supervision of work activities during assigned shifts on a residential or housing unit. The Shift Lead ensures that employees have the resources and support to perform their jobs successfully. The Shift Lead possesses sufficient knowledge and skill in their respective function and utilizes this knowledge and skill to train, coach, and supervise employees. The Shift Lead actively encourages a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Six months Certified Case Manager experience + Case Manager certification OR 6 months supervisory experience
  • CPR certification
  • Valley de-escalation certification
  • Case Manager certification (can be post-hire if supervisory experience is met)
  • Driving positions require a current Utah Driver’s license, must be 21

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of behavioral health experience
  • One year of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the work activities and expectations of a team during assigned shifts (day, afternoon, night) on a residential or housing unit
  • Promotes a culture of strong performance and high morale
  • Ensures the completion of operational goals within required timelines
  • Ensures employee compliance with company policy, procedure, and operational expectations
  • Performs client care responsibilities including targeted case management, medication distribution, client transportation, etc.
  • Completes tasks and projects as assigned by Team Lead or Program Manager
  • Coordinates with unit leadership to ensure shift coverage; provides on-call coverage as assigned
