About The Position

As a Shift Lead at Nothing Bundt Cakes, you will play a vital role in supporting the bakery's operations. This position is essential for ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and that our bakery runs smoothly. The Shift Lead in Training is a developmental role designed to prepare future bakery leaders. Over a 90-day period, the trainee is expected to become proficient in all key operational areas of the bakery, such as: Gaining direct experience in multiple bakery positions through structured training and daily practice. Learning and consistently uphold Nothing Bundt Cakes brand standards for product quality, guest experience, and cleanliness. Building knowledge of team operations and basic financial procedures. Receiving continuous feedback from leadership to track progress. Demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a positive team-oriented attitude.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in food hospitality; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with comfort in learning new technologies.
  • Foodservice safety training certificate is a plus.
  • Effective communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs in a fast-paced environment.
  • An enthusiastic learner with a desire to grow into a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Leads with an unwavering guest focus and exhibit strong people skills, with the ability to engage, empower and motivate a team.
  • Support the Bakery Manager in daily operations and team supervision.
  • Deliver joyful guest experiences and lead by example in every aspect of service and product presentation.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and development of bakery staff.
  • Assist with Joy Creator, Froster and Utility bakery roles as needed to meet business demands.
  • Participate in store opening/closing duties including cash handling and bank deposits.
  • Resolves guest concerns with professionalism and grace, promoting a positive resolution and experience.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of bakery systems (POS, scheduling, reporting) and support with troubleshooting and training.
  • Perform basic math calculations (cash handling, inventory, etc.)
  • Ensure the bakery’s visual presentation is clean, on-brand, and seasonally updated.
