About The Position

This role provides instruction and guidance to employees and audits work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met. The Shift Coordinator will maintain positive and effective relationships with employees and direct them to the appropriate manager regarding policy questions. This position ensures compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, policies, and procedures, reporting any problems or hazardous situations to management. Responsibilities include inspecting products and/or shipments to verify conformance to specifications, reviewing and approving machine set ups, production samples, and/or shipments as necessary, and identifying and reporting opportunities for continual improvement. The Shift Coordinator may attend production meetings and/or confer with other departments to coordinate production activities, and coordinate or perform training for new employees, contract workers, and/or guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood. Ensuring the “Quality Policy and Objectives” are understood and achieved is also a key function. The role may provide oversight of work conducted by junior-level staff and/or review/audit work for accuracy. Additionally, the Shift Coordinator may update and maintain shift schedules in the time and attendance system, enter attendance transactions, share expertise, and train other employees as assigned. Other responsibilities as delegated by management in alignment with evolving business needs will also be carried out.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job
  • Proficient knowledge of technology including computers and software programs such as MS Office, MAC word processing, spreadsheets, or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift in excess of 50 pounds
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
  • Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues
