Works under general direction to perform necessary tasks to satisfy requirements legislated under the powers and duties of the Sheriff found in Tennessee Code Annotated Chapters 8-8-201 and 8-8-213. This role involves executing and returning process orders of the courts, aiding and attending courts, taking charge of and custody of prisoners in the County Jail, serving, executing, and processing legally issued writs, making initial investigations in response to dispatched calls for service, reviewing and policing high accident locations and giving citations to violators, and performing other duties as assigned to fulfill the requirements placed upon the office of the Sheriff Department. The position also requires performing other related duties as required or directed.
