About The Position

As a member of the Hope House Management Team, the Hope House Shelter Supervisor ensures the provision of high-quality services in alignment with the agency mission through the supervision of the direct-service team, functional management of the program, leadership in program activities, and provision of direct services to clients. The Supervisor also participates in program development and evaluation, resource and systems development, community relations and grants management in support of the Program Director. The Hope House Shelter Supervisor supports casework and client support services staff in the delivery of community integration, supportive services (both milieu and individually based), and housing navigation services, including direct service provision, directing, and coaching direct service staff in service provision, and ensuring thorough and timely documentation of services provided. Population Served: Individuals who are experiencing homelessness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field
  • Experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness
  • Understanding of the Preble Street mission and harm reduction
  • Positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty
  • Effective crisis intervention skills
  • Working knowledge of the needs of vulnerable populations, including individuals with substance use disorders, mental illness, and histories of trauma
