About The Position

Under the supervision of the Shelter Operations Manager, the Shelter Shift Leader will assure that the day to day functions of the shelters are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Experience in informal mental health/ substance abuse evaluation
• 21 years old (required)

Nice To Haves

• Education in social services/substance abuse (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall supervision of the other shelter monitors on his/her shift
• Ensures that adequate and appropriate intakes/screening are performed; guests have an individual space; meals are served and cleaned up; lights out are timely and respected; laundry and showers are working and available during assigned hours; outside service providers are facilitated in their meetings with guests; all guests are treated with respect and care
• Responsible for all documentation on that shift, including population statistics, incident reports and staff log
• Responsible for coordination of monitors and orientation of new monitors on that shift
• Responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of all dorms, bathrooms, kitchens and sleeping areas
• Other related duties as required
