About The Position
This position is responsible for assisting residents staying in the shelter overnight, performing client intake procedures and preparing client intake records, monitoring the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules, maintaining accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information, and ensuring that the facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working within a social services program, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
- Ability to perform data entry into a computer.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
- Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25lbs.) frequently.
- Valid State Driver's License
