About The Position

Person in this position provides services to clients in the Domestic Violence Shelter. This role involves completing documentation, supervising clients in daily activities, providing crisis counseling and support to victims and children, presenting groups and activities for children who have witnessed domestic violence, overseeing facility maintenance and meal preparation, and fulfilling Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) duties. The position also involves providing input into client treatment needs, assisting other staff, and embodying the mission and values of WestCare Foundation.

Requirements

  • Possess or able to obtain Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card
  • Able to pass Arizona Central Registry background check
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working within a social service setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion.
  • Ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word program formats or the ability to learn.
  • Ability to respond as needed to crisis situations in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to complete work tasks within scheduled work hours.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to seek out new work projects and contribute ideas and efforts to the constant improvement of WestCare services.

Responsibilities

  • Complete documentation of services on provided forms in a timely manner.
  • Provides client supervision in daily activities and general program operations.
  • Provides crisis counseling and support to victims and children.
  • Presents groups and activities designed to support children who have witnessed domestic violence.
  • Conduct and coordinate childrens groups and activities.
  • Oversees overall facility maintenance and meal preparation.
  • All Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) duties as required.
  • Provides input into the clients treatment needs and disposition.
  • Assists other WestCare staff as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community.
