About The Position

The Sheet Shop Night Lead position will oversee the night screw and lead processes and be a mentor/advisor for the machine operators. This is a union shop environment. The role involves scheduling and programming laser and punch jobs, supervising press brake and shear work, training, and operating machines. The ideal candidate will have good mechanical aptitude, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to schedule effectively. Good attendance and the ability to work safely are necessary.

Requirements

• Journeyman level on all sheet metal equipment
• Proficiency with press brakes, folding brakes, lasers, and shear
• Effective 1st article inspection skills
• Understanding of bend allowance, tonnage capacity, tooling specs, etc.
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Computer and phone skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong mentoring skills
• Ability to learn programming software for all lasers and press brakes and use it daily
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong leadership abilities
• Ability to schedule
• Good attendance
• Ability to work safely
