About The Position

In this role, you can expect to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment for general aviation aircraft. You'll set up and operate fabricating machines, shape metal using various tools, and join parts with soldering and welding equipment. Your expertise will ensure seamless and smooth joints and surfaces.

Requirements

  • High School education, or a GED is required
  • A minimum 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience is required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FAA AC 43. 13-1B and aircraft structure repair manuals is helpful
  • Skills in identifying types of corrosions and corrosion removal procedures are helpful
  • Knowledge of the application and removal of wash etch and Alodine material is helpful
  • Experience in applying primer is helpful
  • Ability to identify rivets, bolts, screw, nuts and washer is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and methods using blueprints and instructions
  • Lay out and alter sheet metal parts based on blueprints, drawings, and instructions
  • Perform rivet and sheet metal component removal, and install solid and blind rivets with various tools including rivet guns and squeeze tools
  • Bend, form, and drill various metals, ensuring precise fabrication of parts
  • Set up for countersinking, dimpling, and deburring holes and cut lines
