About The Position

This role involves operating sheet metal roller machinery in a manufacturing environment. The operator will be responsible for setting up and adjusting machines according to blueprints, loading metal sheets, monitoring the rolling process, and ensuring the quality of the finished products. The position also includes machine maintenance, record-keeping, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience operating metal sheet roller machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, rolling techniques, blueprint reading, and problem-solving
  • Able to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as grinders, impact wrenches, and sanders.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Good vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust roller machines according to blueprints, ensuring correct pressure, bend angles, and dimensions for various metal types.
  • Accurately load metal sheets onto rollers, often using hoists or forklifts for larger pieces.
  • Continuously monitor rolling cycles, making fine adjustments to maintain exact specifications and prevent defects.
  • Check finished products for accuracy, surface imperfections, and structural integrity.
  • Inspect and maintain machines, tools, and safety guards; report issues for repair to maintenance.
  • Complete job logs and production tags.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace and follow all safety procedures.
