Sheet Metal Operator - Day Shift
About The Position
This role involves operating sheet metal machinery, including cutting, breaking, and sorting parts. The operator will participate in team problem-solving activities focused on quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements. Key responsibilities include meeting or exceeding targets for safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity, attending training, and performing other duties as assigned. The position requires a willingness to learn, adherence to company policies, maintaining a safe work environment, excellent attendance, a positive attitude, and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility. A strong understanding of tape measure usage (within 1/32”), basic shop math, and the ability to read production orders and understand shop drawings are essential. Familiarity with common hand and power tools is also required.
Requirements
- Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
- Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32”
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
- Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
- Familiar with common hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn
- Maintain excellent work attendance
- Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
