Sheet Metal Operator - Weekend Shift Day Shift
About The Position
This position involves operating sheet metal machinery, including cutting, breaking, and sorting parts. The role requires active participation in team problem-solving activities focused on quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements. The operator will be responsible for meeting or exceeding annual targets in safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity. Additional duties may be assigned, and a willingness to learn is essential. Adherence to company policies and maintaining a safe work environment are critical. Excellent work attendance, a positive attitude, and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility are expected. The role requires proficiency in using a tape measure to 1/32” and basic shop math, including whole numbers and fractions. The ability to read production orders and understand shop drawings, along with familiarity with common hand and power tools, is necessary.
Requirements
- Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32”
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
- Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
- Familiar with common hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
- Participate in team and shop business problem solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements
- Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity targets
- Attend training courses as directed by management
- May perform other duties, as assigned
- Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as insuring a safe work environment is maintained
- Maintain excellent work attendance
