About The Position
Therm-x of California is a manufacturer of Advanced Temperature and Control Systems for high-technology industries. The Sheet Metal Operator fabricates thin metal sheets for a variety of applications. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, setting up, programming, and operating fabrication machinery, accurately measuring and cutting raw materials to precise tolerances, inspecting finished products for quality, and performing routine maintenance to help ensure equipment safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Nice To Haves
- CNC press brake experience in a precision production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, edit programs for, and operate CNC turret punch machines according to job-specific requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Set up the workstation and select appropriate tooling for assigned jobs.
- Follow safety requirements and policies, maintaining a commitment to safety, ethics, and professionalism.
- Interface with Engineering on process improvements.
- Measure and cut raw materials to precise tolerances and inspect finished products for quality control.
