About The Position
Laitram Machinery, Inc. is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Sheet Metal Fabricator / Deburr Operator to support its fabrication team. The role involves removing laser-cut parts, performing hand and machine deburring, and moving work through multiple fabrication areas. It is a hands-on, fast-paced position with opportunities to learn and grow across laser, press brake, and saw operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using basic hand tools, such as grinders and sanders.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to read basic drawings and use measuring tools.
- Willingness to learn and work across multiple areas.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks outlined in the Functional Job Description.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with deburring or metal finishing processes.
- Exposure to laser, press brake, or saw operation.
Responsibilities
- Break out parts from laser-cut sheets.
- Deburr parts using hand tools and deburring machines (Lissmac).
- Inspect parts to ensure quality and remove sharp edges or defects.
- Prep and stage parts for the next operation.
- Support production across laser, deburr, press brake, and saw areas as needed.
- Perform daily and weekly maintenance to maintain machines.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain accurate work and labor entries using shop floor systems.
