About The Position
The Sheet Metal Brake Operator is responsible for accurately setting up and operating press brake equipment to bend, form, and shape metal components according to blueprint specifications. The role supports production goals through independent work while maintaining strict safety, quality, and efficiency standards. It is a hands-on position that works closely with the day-shift production team and requires a strong commitment to safe manufacturing practices. The position includes following fabrication drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions; operating and checking fabrication machines; inspecting finished products; maintaining tools and equipment; and learning company processes. Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bend deductions.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Proficiency using measuring tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
- Follow fabrication drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to build parts, structures, and mechanical component assemblies from a wide variety of materials.
- Safely and efficiently operate machines involved in fabricating and completing parts.
- Periodically test machine operation and identify issues.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure quality.
- Keep tools and equipment clean and orderly, and report equipment problems.
- Learn JR Metal Works processes involved in completing assigned parts.
