Sheet Laser Operator
About The Position
Landscape Structures Inc. is an employee-owned manufacturer of commercial playground equipment. The Sheet Laser Operator operates tube and/or sheet metal laser equipment to produce a variety of metal parts accurately and efficiently using work instructions, drawings, and nesting software. The role may also involve operating metal-finishing equipment and a CNC press brake, with careful handling of products to maintain internal quality standards. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 5:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. The target hourly pay range is $22.00–$27.00, depending on qualifications and experience. Compensation also includes eligibility for profit-sharing and a monthly bonus opportunity. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background screening.
Requirements
- Previous laser or CNC press brake fabrication experience and/or related schooling is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in laser-related machining skills.
- Some understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate a tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow written instructions.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks without losing sight of objectives.
- Independent, dependable, resourceful, and self-motivated.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using nesting software is preferred.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Produce fabricated parts by following work instructions and using nesting software.
- Fabricate components made of stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and mild steel.
- Operate laser and metal-finishing equipment and a CNC press brake accurately and efficiently.
- Handle products carefully to uphold internal quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, use a tape measure and calipers, and follow written instructions.
- Determine material types and gauges.
