The Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office is a confidential place for those who have been impacted by sexual or gender based violence, harassment or harm. Our response services include both individual and group support and advocacy. SVPRO also has a multi-faceted educational program (i.e, outreach, event planning, panel participation, presentation, Q&A sessions, workshops or training and consultation) which strives toward attitudinal, behaviour, social and systemic change. The Sexual Violence Prevention Educator leads campus-wide sexual violence prevention education strategies that promote a culture of consent by addressing attitudes and behaviours that support rape culture to create an inclusive environment for diverse populations of UBC faculty, staff, and students. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating sexual violence prevention education and training initiatives that support the successful implementation of UBC's Sexualized Violence and Sexual Misconduct Policy. The Sexual Violence Prevention Educator collaborates with UBC faculty, staff, students, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that prevention education strategies are integrated and coordinated across campus units, departments, programming, and practices.
