The Sexual Assault On-Call Advocate position is responsible for providing general, medical and legal advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. This role requires a strong commitment to social justice, critical thinking through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty, and grounding anti-racism principles in everyday work. The advocate must be able to respond to hotline calls within fifteen minutes and provide in-person support during medical forensic exams. The position involves working with victim survivors using an empowerment-based advocacy model, offering emotional support, providing information and resources, making mandatory reports, and documenting participant information in accordance with confidentiality policies. The role also includes administrative duties such as submitting timesheets and participant documents, and adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
