About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Sewing Room Seamstress at Mathis Mattress Manufacturing. The role involves operating various automated sewing machines and specialized equipment to assemble mattress components. The employee will work at a specific station on the assembly line, performing all portions of mattress manufacturing. This is a non-safety sensitive position.

Requirements

• Ability to operate various automated sewing machines
• Ability to lift merchandise of 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members
• Knowledge of employment and safety procedures
• Knowledge of merchandise handling procedures
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs constantly to move objects

Responsibilities

• Operate various automated sewing machines
• Lift and stack quilted panels, borders, etc.
• Sew borders, patterns, panels, etc. together using sewing machines and specialized equipment made for mattress production
• Work a specific station on the assembly line sewing all portions of mattress manufacturing
• Perform any other duties as requested by management
