About The Position

The Sewing Operator operates industrial sewing equipment to produce gear according to job specifications and sewing standards. The operator prepares machines by changing needles and thread, oiling the machine, changing bobbins, and securing attachments. The role works with production teammates to meet delivery deadlines, quality requirements, and production goals while maintaining a clean and safe sewing area. No prior experience is required; training is provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and comprehend English-language instructions.
Ability to follow instructions consistently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read job cards and follow sewing standards.
Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
Ability to multitask.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of industrial sewing experience; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate industrial sewing equipment.
Prepare sewing machines by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbins, and securing attachments.
Sew gear according to job specifications and job cards.
Mount sewing machine attachments, such as needles, threads, pattern plates, or cutting blades, and adjust machine guides to job specifications.
Work with the team to meet delivery deadlines and ensure products meet quality requirements and production goals set by the supervisor.
Understand quality requirements and the role's impact on on-time delivery, material tracking, and customer requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the sewing area.
Demonstrate productivity that supports decreased lead time.
Work cooperatively with other production associates.
Follow instructions consistently with minimal supervision.
Read job cards and follow sewing standards.
Communicate and work with supervisors and other departments in the plant.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow company rules and regulations.
Multitask.
