About The Position
HM Richards, a financially stable upholstery and furniture manufacturing company focused on expansion, is hiring a Sewer at its Guntown, Mississippi location. The company’s mission is to make beautiful furniture while reducing its environmental footprint through planet-friendly materials and processes. The Sewer operates a sewing machine to complete sewn parts according to the production schedule. The position receives work bundles from sewing floats, completes assigned sewing work, and helps maintain daily production documentation. The role includes sewing parts such as arms, backs, seats, and cushions using a foot pedal to operate the machine, communicating with coworkers and a supervisor when needed, and performing other duties as assigned. The stated pay range is $19.00–$20.50 per hour. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and able to submit to a drug test and background investigation.

Responsibilities
- Pull work according to the work schedule and remove completed work from the schedule.
- Receive bundles of work from sewing floats and operate a sewing machine to complete the schedule.
- Sew parts such as arms, backs, seats, and cushions, using a foot pedal to operate the sewing machine.
- Communicate with the sewing supervisor, sewing float, and bundler as needed or when problems arise.
- Assist sewing floats with completing production sheets daily.
- Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
