About The Position

This is a temporary, short-duration position created to support production backlog. The role involves sewing fabric and leather cushions and flat-work pieces according to production specifications, operating an electric sewing machine, and adhering to all established sewing standards. The position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. The work environment is an indoor, ventilated furniture manufacturing setting with concrete floors, and the workspace is heated and cooled.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ sewing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and use a ruler accurately.
• Ability to thread and operate industrial sewing machines.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, comprehension, speaking, writing).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to sit for up to 4 hours.
• Dependable, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
• Required PPE: Safety glasses.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Sew fabric and leather cushions and flat-work pieces according to production specifications.
• Operate an electric sewing machine, guiding materials accurately through the needle.
• Follow all established sewing standards, including maintaining consistent ½" seams, producing straight, uniform stitches, ensuring no skipped stitches, verifying all pieces meet required specifications, inspecting materials for holes, flaws, or defects, and measuring welt using a ruler for correct length.
• Read and understand production tickets and basic sewing instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
