About The Position

This is a temporary, short-duration position created to support production backlog. Employment is at-will and will end when the project is complete. The role involves sewing fabric and leather cushions and flat-work pieces according to production specifications using an electric sewing machine. The position requires adherence to specific sewing standards, including maintaining consistent seams, producing uniform stitches, and verifying that all pieces meet required specifications. The Sewer will also be responsible for inspecting materials for defects, reading production tickets, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is ideal for individuals with sewing experience looking for a temporary opportunity.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ sewing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and use a ruler accurately.
• Ability to thread and operate industrial sewing machines.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, comprehension, speaking, writing).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to sit for up to 4 hours.
• Dependable, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Sew fabric and leather cushions and flat-work pieces according to production specifications.
• Operate an electric sewing machine, guiding materials accurately through the needle.
• Follow all established sewing standards, including maintaining consistent ½" seams, producing straight, uniform stitches, and ensuring no skipped stitches.
• Verify all pieces meet required specifications.
• Inspect materials for holes, flaws, or defects.
• Measure welt using a ruler for correct length.
• Read and understand production tickets and basic sewing instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
