About The Position

The Setup Technician is a hands-on role in the Service Department responsible for assembling, preparing, and accessorizing powersports vehicles for showroom display and customer handoff. The technician also supports the sales floor during busy periods and helps provide an exceptional dealership experience. The position is based at Ball Equipment in Sandusky, Michigan, and reports to the Parts & Service Manager.

Requirements

• Basic computer and clerical skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least one year of forklift experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, and handle equipment throughout the day.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; the qualifications also state the ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and self-manage workloads.
• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical aptitude or experience in powersports, small engines, or a related field.
• Forklift and trailer handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare new motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, and personal watercraft to manufacturer specifications.
• Install accessories, perform basic maintenance, and complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI).
• Ensure units are clean, safe, and showroom-ready.
• Load and unload trucks and new unit arrivals using a forklift.
• Move units safely into and out of the showroom and service area.
• Check in arriving units and inspect their condition.
• Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the setup area.
• Support the sales floor during busy periods and help across departments.
