About The Position

Our Colorado Springs facility is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Setup Technician Lead to join our Manufacturing team. The Manufacturing Setup Technician Lead is a highly skilled technical expert responsible for leading daily setup operations, troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues, and guiding technician development. In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and informal leader, ensuring execution of production objectives across safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). The position requires advanced knowledge of injection molding processes, strong independent judgment, and the ability to lead others through influence, coaching, and technical expertise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship
  • 7–10 years of manufacturing setup experience (injection molding preferred)
  • Advanced technical proficiency in molding processes and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to build team growth through coaching and collaboration
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Teams etc.), SAP, MES, Copilot
  • Actively demonstrates PACE Values and positively influences team culture through accountability, teamwork, and dedication to excellence
  • Upholds safety, quality, and ethical standards
  • Maintains strong attention to detail and process discipline
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and drives solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Master Molder I certification preferred
  • TWI and Train the Trainer Certification or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for injection molding setup, FANUC robotics, and downstream processes
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex equipment and process issues using data and experience
  • Ensure setups meet all process specifications, quality standards, and documentation requirements
  • Drive resolution of recurring defects through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Apply continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, 6S, waste reduction) to improve process efficiency
  • Utilize MES, SAP, Excel, and digital tools effectively for tracking and reporting
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to processes, systems, and workflows
  • Support implementation of standard work and best practices
  • Enforce safety policies, conduct LPAs and ASIs, and maintain safe work environment
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, cleanliness standards, and 5S practices
  • Identify and escalate risks, hazards, and quality concerns proactively
  • Support audit readiness and compliance with manufacturing standards
  • Prioritize and balance workload to meet production targets
  • Ensure readiness of presses, molds, and documentation across all production areas
  • Maintain accuracy in MES, SAP, and production tracking systems
  • Support cross-functional coordination with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning
  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of setup technicians without direct authority
  • Provide coaching, training, and skill development across technician levels (L1–L3)
  • Set clear expectations and reinforce accountability to safety, quality, and process adherence
  • Facilitate Tier 1 meetings and communicate SQDC performance
  • Model and reinforce PACE values through daily behaviors
