About The Position

The Setup Technician is responsible for the setup and teardown of injection molds and all ancillary equipment from injection molding machines. This role also involves the care and maintenance of injection molds between production runs. The position requires adherence to specific company metrics, safety protocols, and documentation procedures. The job involves significant physical activity, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Successful completion or proven prior experience required as a Setup Technician in Injection Molding to qualify to move from Setup Technician I to Setup Technician II to Setup Technician III.
Experience in manufacturing, preferred.
Experience in Aerospace, preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Install tooling dies (molds) into injection molding machines.
Verify that molds and ancillary equipment are safely set up and functioning properly.
Remove ancillary equipment from work centers after production runs are complete.
Clean molds/equipment and store them in a safe, protected condition.
Use a variety of hand tools in an appropriate and safe manner.
Operate a pallet jack.
Record time spent on tasks.
Keep work areas clean and organized.
Operate machines while caring for equipment and tools.
Conduct resin handling, drying, and movement.
Operate and clean material dryers.
Set up and operate mold heaters.
Verify and document all mold/equipment setup processes.
Verify and document all equipment parameters.
Operate injection molding machine in “Setup Mode”.
Red tag broken or unsafe tools and equipment.
Operate Forklift (Setup Technician II).
Train Material Handler (Mold floor) (Setup Technician II).
Train Mold Setup (Level 1) (Setup Technician II).
Issue MRO work orders for damaged/malfunctioning equipment (Setup Technician II).
Installation and verification of position switches on all features of a tool (Setup Technician II).
Proper setup of vacuum verification on tooling (Setup Technician II).
Correctly install an additive feeder on an injection molding machine (Setup Technician II).
Effectively “Purge” an injection molding machine following the SOP’s provided (Setup Technician II).
Perform simple, Core/Cavity, insert changes (Setup Technician II).
Train Mold Setup (Level 2) (Setup Technician II).
Operate Reach truck (Setup Technician II).
Uphold and comply with Demgy’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Follow safety policies.
Contribute to the success of the company’s environmental, health & safety program.
Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers in all departments.
Maintain accurate documentation as required, following Demgy Pacific’s document and record control procedures as applicable to the position.
Ensure that housekeeping within the department is properly maintained.
Follow Demgy 5S program (workstation organization/locations maintained).
Follow policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
