About The Position

DebtBlue is growing and looking for a driven Settlement Processing Specialist to join their Negotiations department. This role is critical in ensuring settlements are processed accurately, efficiently, and according to company quality standards. The position is full-time and in-office.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• 1+ year of experience in a transactional or financial operations role (required)
• Experience handling time-sensitive financial tasks such as processing payments, reviewing transactions, or managing account information
• Familiarity working alongside creditors, lenders, financial institutions, or vendors

Responsibilities

• Audit negotiated settlements for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company procedures
• Lock new settlements once the required audit has been completed and the settlement meets processing requirements
• Call creditors or third parties to process settlement payments when required
• Process payoffs for active settlements when sufficient client funds are available or when a payoff is requested
• Contact creditors or third parties to confirm payoff amounts and requirements before completing an active settlement payoff
• Request proof of payment for active settlements when documentation is needed to confirm payment completion
• Follow up with creditors or third parties as needed to obtain requested proof of payment
• Manage multiple negotiations while consistently meeting performance and productivity goals
