About The Position

Singleton Schreiber is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Temporary Settlement Accounting Specialist to support the Accounting team. This role is responsible for managing client settlement payments and maintaining accurate financial records. The accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions. This position will be a 10+ week full-time in office temporary position.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
  • 1+ years of general accounting experience or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or Economics.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive and enthusiastic team player
  • Full-time, in-office availability.

Nice To Haves

  • Law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports firm financial operations by managing settlement-related accounting processes, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining accurate and compliant accounting records.
  • Exceptional data entry skills with a focus on verifying payment instructions
  • Processing client settlement payments
  • Reviewing Client Settlement Distribution Agreements
  • Conducting audits of payments made and attorney fee splits
  • Assisting the Settlement Accounting team as needed
  • Filing and maintaining accounting documents
  • Handling internal and external inquiries concerning client’s payment
  • Performing additional duties needed to support the accounting department
