About The Position

Sets up and operates production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The position involves machining parts to specifications using machine tools, CNC machines, and cam-driven bar machines; performing precision machining operations; and verifying product quality with precision instruments and gauges. The operator moves completed parts according to standard work processes, documents production and quality outputs, and participates in team meetings and continuous improvement activities. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or designee. The listed duties describe the general nature of the position and may be modified; reasonable accommodations may be made so qualified employees can perform essential functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of on-site training as a machine operator, or three years of related work experience as a machinist.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools, CNC machines, and cam-driven bar machines.
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
• Change offsets on CNC machines.
• Read and understand blueprints.
• Use precision instrumentation and gauges to verify product quality and integrity.
• Move completed parts according to standard work processes.
• Complete appropriate documentation to track production and quality outputs.
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or designee.
