About The Position
The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy invites applications for Sessional Lecturers to teach specific courses during the 2026-27 Regular Session, Fall Term. The courses are JSGS 801.3 Governance and Administration and JSGS 891.3 Public Policy Professionalism. Both courses are delivered in person in Saskatoon, with scheduled evening classes. The appointment period includes time for preparation and marking. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with the MPA competencies.
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Completion of the CUPE 3287 Employment Application Form if this is the first time applying for a sessional position at JSGS.
- Submission of a single PDF file including the application form (if applicable), curriculum vitae, a cover letter, teaching philosophy, and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Application submission by August 18, 2026.
Nice To Haves
- PhD degree is preferred.
- Previous teaching experience, particularly at the graduate level.
Responsibilities
- Teach JSGS 801.3 Governance and Administration during the Fall Term of the 2026-27 Regular Session.
- Teach JSGS 891.3 Public Policy Professionalism during the Fall Term of the 2026-27 Regular Session.
- Prepare course materials.
- Mark student assignments and exams.
- Engage with students during scheduled class times.
