About The Position

This position is for FAH289H5S Art Since 1945, a university credit course examining divergent international art movements and controversies in various media from 1945 to the present. The estimated course enrollment is 75 students with an estimated TA support of 1. The class schedule is Wednesday 1-3pm with tutorials from 3-5pm. The sessional dates of appointment are from January 11 to April 12, 2027.

Requirements

  • Graduate degrees in Art History
  • A Ph.D is essential
  • Mastery of the subject area
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching a similar UTM course previously

  • Experience as a sole responsibility course instructor is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Design and teaching of a university credit course
  • Preparation and delivery of course material
  • Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests and/or exams
  • Supervision of teaching assistants
  • Marking of students’ work
  • Submission of grades to university officials
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Scheduling of guest speakers (limited to one week class session)
