This course focuses on the aging and repurposing of infrastructure, specifically examining how the design of waterpower dams, structures, and equipment has been influenced by technological advancements over time. Students will gain the ability to assess the upgrade potential of existing plants, utilize tools and data to understand site conditions, and recognize the scope of modernization for structures and equipment within the framework of environmental, social, technical, and economic decision-making. The course is taught online and is scheduled for one two-hour lecture per week during the Winter Session (January - April 2027).
