About The Position

The Department of Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) has a Sessional Lecturer position available for the 2026 Fall term. This position is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. The course, ECO313H5F, focuses on the application of economics to environmental and natural resource economics, using economic theory and empirical evidence to address environmental issues such as resource management, regulation, and pollution control. The course will emphasize market-based instruments and climate change problems. The mode of instruction will be in-person.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching and mastery of subject area
  • Previous experience in teaching this, or related course, at university level
  • Demonstrated Excellence in delivering online courses in a remote setting.
  • Must not be a current University of Toronto student.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course content
  • Supervision of teaching assistants
  • Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations, including make-up tests
  • Calculation and submission of grades to university officials
  • Holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact
