About The Position
This course surveys the effects of migrations and cultural connections between Hong Kong and Canada from the 1960s. Students will discuss and analyze the impact of migrations and study the connection between the two locations from the perspectives of history, culture and literature, politics and democracy, economic and financial development and the network of people and community. Restricted to first-year students. The delivery method for this course is currently in-person. Please note that, in keeping with public health advisories, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the College.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree required in Social Sciences or Humanities.
Nice To Haves
- Ph.D. preferred.
- Demonstrated research and/or teaching expertise on issues relating to Canada-Hong Kong migration and/or Chinese Canadian Studies (or cognate field) is preferred.
- University level teaching experience is preferred with demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching.
Responsibilities
- Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content
- Development, administration and marking of all assignments
- Calculation and submission of grades
- Holding regular office hours
