About The Position

This course on Special Topics in European Affairs aims at answering questions about the European Union, including its core institutions, the scope of its directives and programs, its role as an international actor, and its relationship with member-states' policies. The course will cover the introduction to integration in Europe, the development of the EU, theories and approaches to its study, the main political, economic, and judiciary institutions, and important policy areas and challenges such as migration, asylum, social cohesion, counterterrorist initiatives, post-Brexit scenarios, relations with neighbors, and foreign policy. Special attention will be given to the political interaction between EU institutions and member-states, and between EU Directives and member-state policies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of university-level teaching experience
  • Experience in experiential learning based courses
  • A minimum MA is required
  • Experience in public policy making

Nice To Haves

  • A track-record of published scholarship on the politics of Europe in recognized journals
