About The Position

The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a Sessional Lecturer for THRC80H3F Stagecraft II: Applied Technical Production for the Fall 2026 academic session. This course covers advanced technical skills in lighting, sound, and material fabrication for sets and properties. Students will learn professional practices related to safety and collaborate on shared projects. The position involves all standard duties of a university credit course, including content delivery, assignment development and grading, and holding office hours. The appointment dates are from September 1 to December 31, 2026, with completion of course grading by December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of professional experience in general technical theatre practice, including in as many of the following areas as possible: stage management, lighting, sound, video projection, costumes, set building, carpentry, and costume tailoring
  • Teaching experience
