About The Position
The Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology (ICCIT) at the University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking qualified candidates for Sessional Lecturer positions for the 2027 Winter Session. This is an emergency posting in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. The appointment dates are from January 1 to April 30, 2027. ICCIT invites applications from qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students. The mode of instruction for the courses is in-person, and candidates are required to travel to UTM to carry out their duties.
Requirements
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Advanced technological skills.
- Completion of a graduate degree specific to the subject matter.
- Experience in teaching a similar topic at the undergraduate level.
- Experience and ability to supervise teaching assistants.
Nice To Haves
- Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III.
Responsibilities
- Design, administration, and teaching of a university credit course.
- Preparation and delivery of course material.
- Supervision of teaching assistants assigned to the course, if applicable.
- Development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams.
- Calculation and submission of grades to university officials.
- Holding regular office hours.
- Maintaining reasonable availability for student contact.
