About The Position

The Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour in the Edwards School of Business invites applications for Sessional Lecturers to teach the following courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session. This specific opening is for COMM 304.3 (19) – Introduction to Business Law, which covers general principles of law relating to contract and tort, including special contracts like agency, assignment, bailment, employment, guarantee, insurance, negotiable instruments, sale of goods, and contracts creating a security interest in goods. Aspects of the law relating to real property, partnerships, and corporations will also be discussed. The course is scheduled for the Fall session (September to December) and will be delivered via lecture on Mondays from 5:30 pm to 8:50 pm in Saskatoon.

Requirements

  • A graduate or professional degree, or professional certification, in a field relevant to the course
  • Relevant professional experience and ongoing professional engagement clearly linked to the field in which the candidate is expected to teach
  • Display a high level of professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is an asset
  • A CPHR designation is an asset
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and presenting course material on the scheduled days and times.
  • Creating a syllabus and assessments (e.g., assignments, exams).
  • Grading student assessments and providing feedback.
  • Responding to student inquiries before and after class.
  • Adhering to the academic policies and procedures at the Edwards School of Business and the University of Saskatchewan.
