About The Position

The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a Sessional Lecturer for the VPSC80H3F Digital Publishing course during the Fall 2026 academic session. This course is designed for students interested in creating and publishing artworks using digital tools, with a focus on short-run printed catalogs, e-books, and blogs. The curriculum will cover editorial and image preparation, and introduce software for integrating images, videos, sounds, graphics, and texts into digital publications, encouraging creative solutions.

Requirements

  • Teaching experience at the university level
  • Expertise in teaching digital book design
  • Experience printing physical books using self-publishing platforms
  • Experience with web-based design and publishing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary art practice as it relates to design, artist books, and online publishing
  • An active practice and extensive exhibition record with design and art publishing as a demonstrable area of focus

Responsibilities

  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content
  • Participation in Studio’s exhibitions and guest lecture opportunities on campus
  • Development, administration and marking of assignments and final portfolios
  • Calculation and submission of grades
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Work closely with permanent faculty
