About The Position

The Department of Wood Science is seeking to hire a part-time sessional lecturer for the 26W - Term 2 (January 1 to April 30, 2027) academic period. The course to be taught is WOOD 282 (3 credits) Wood Physics and Mechanics, with the "physics" portion constituting 80% of the course content (equivalent to 2.4 credits). A full-time load in the Department of Wood Science is 12 credits per term, and a 3-credit course represents 0.25 of a full-time load. Therefore, 80% of a 3-credit course is 0.2 of a full-time workload. The expected salary for this position is $4,000 per credit, prorated at 80%.

  • Solid background in wood physics
  • Experience in running related experiments
  • Undergraduate degree in Wood Science
  • Completed a Ph.D. in Forestry on the topic of wood physics
