About The Position

Course Code: KPE436H: Outdoor Education and Environmental Stewardship Course description: In this course, students examine the central concept of environmental sustainability. A number of local and global dilemmas and issues are explored, with a focus on intersections with the provision of outdoor education and the natural environment. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for the relationship between individuals, society and the global Earth. By the end of the course students will be able to apply considerations of environmental sustainability in the delivery of outdoor education and to outdoor recreational engagement in our day-to-day lives.

Requirements

  • PhD preferred in a relevant area, or combination of relevant expertise and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in college or university setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • All duties associated with the design and teaching of a university credit course
  • Preparation and delivery of course content
  • Development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams
  • Calculation and submission of grades
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Supervising TAs assigned to the course, if applicable
