About The Position

This course introduces students to the art and science of data analysis and provides a set of statistical and econometric tools that are useful in managerial decision making. The primary focus of this course is on causal analysis. Topics include, but are not limited to: Probability Distributions, Hypothesis Testing, Linear Regressions, Propensity Score Matching, Binary Dependent Variables, Basic Machine Learning. Applications include, but are not limited to: Inventory Management, Assessment of a Marketing Campaign, Demand Estimation, Hospital Management, Investment Management.

Requirements

  • PhD student in Economics, in Marketing, or in Strategic Management with a research interest in applied microeconomic theory or a suitably qualified graduate student.

Responsibilities

  • Being available online during class hours for synchronous sessions
  • Marking assignments, having done suitable preparation (careful reading of cases).
  • Meet with students on an occasional basis to discuss assignments.
  • Invigilating the final exam.
  • Assist in marking tests and final exams.
  • Use Quercus.
  • Consult with students by email.
