About The Position

This course, MMI1010H Prices and Markets, aims to equip students with the fundamental economic principles necessary for understanding market production and consumption decisions. It will cover how market forces influence prices and how economic shifts impact supply and demand. The course will utilize economic models to predict consumer behavior, production, pricing, and competition, incorporating game theory to foster strategic thinking and decision-making skills in managerial contexts. The role of the Sessional Instructional Assistant involves supporting these learning objectives.

Requirements

  • PhD student in Economics, Economic Analysis & Policy, Marketing, or Strategic Management with research interest in applied microeconomic theory or a suitably qualified graduate student.

Responsibilities

  • Being available online during class hours for synchronous sessions
  • Marking assignments, having done suitable preparation (careful reading of cases).
  • Meet with students on an occasional basis to discuss assignments.
  • Invigilating the final exam.
  • Assist in marking tests and final exams.
  • Use Quercus.
  • Consult with students by email.
