About The Position

The Priority Assets Case Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex default servicing matters involving property-related risks, including code violations, demolitions, receiverships, title disputes, condemnation actions, abandoned properties, and other issues that may negatively impact collateral securing U.S. Bank loans. This role serves as a liaison between internal business lines, Legal, foreclosure counsel, and external law firms to ensure the Bank's interests are protected and legal matters are addressed efficiently and effectively. The Priority Assets Case Manager performs detailed research and analysis, reviews legal and property-related documentation, develops resolution strategies, and maintains comprehensive case summaries to provide visibility into portfolio risks and case progression. The position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role regularly communicates with attorneys, paralegals, foreclosure firms, servicing partners, and business stakeholders, and is responsible for ensuring attorney-client privilege and confidentiality requirements are maintained. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five or more years of experience in administrative support activities

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience in mortgage servicing, foreclosure operations, default servicing, legal support, or related financial services functions.
  • Paralegal experience, legal assistant experience, or paralegal certification is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with foreclosure attorneys, bankruptcy attorneys, title companies, or law firms preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal pleadings, court filings, title issues, receiverships, code violations, condemnation actions, and other property-related matters.
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, foreclosure timelines, investor requirements, and default servicing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience researching and resolving complex property-related issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to assess risk and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to review and interpret legal documents, servicing records, title reports, and property records.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing professional case summaries, risk assessments, and management updates.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and case management systems.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with attorneys, business partners, vendors, and all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Priority Assets cases involving property-related issues that may impact collateral value or create liability exposure for the Bank.
  • Engage and coordinate with foreclosure counsel, outside legal firms, and other vendors to protect the Bank's interests.
  • Review legal documents, title reports, court filings, property records, and servicing information to assess risk and determine appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Perform research and analysis of loan accounts to support settlement authority recommendations, resolution options, expense approvals, and check requests.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed case summaries that clearly identify key issues, risks, milestones, and recommended next steps.
  • Monitor legal matters and property-related issues to ensure timely resolution and compliance with established timelines.
  • Identify and escalate issues that may create financial, legal, operational, or reputational risk to the Bank.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with attorneys, business partners, leadership teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal departments including Mortgage Servicing, Default Operations, Legal, Property Preservation, Bankruptcy, Loss Mitigation, and Foreclosure teams.
  • Analyze portfolio trends and prepare reports that provide insight into risk exposure, case status, and operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within servicing and case management systems.
  • Ensure attorney-client privilege, confidentiality requirements, and regulatory guidelines are always upheld.
