The Software Asset Management Lead is responsible for assisting the client with their software asset lifecycle program, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and cost optimization. This role works with a team of technical professionals and partners closely with Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, Finance, and Risk Management to protect enterprise assets and reduce operational and compliance risk. The position requires managing the end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement of software assets across the enterprise. The lead will provide leadership and guidance to a team of technical professionals, ensure accurate inventory reporting, reconciliation, and documentation, and identify opportunities for automation and tooling enhancements. This role also involves leading cross-functional initiatives, tracking software entitlements, monitoring license usage, and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance and cost-efficiency. A key aspect of the role is performing in-depth data analysis in ServiceNow to provide visibility into software usage and compliance status, compiling financial, contractual, and inventory data, and recommending/enforcing SAM policies. The lead will also respond to audit requests, investigate discrepancies, and support the onboarding of new software titles into ServiceNow SAM Pro. Additionally, the role involves collecting and analyzing data on software usage, versioning, contract end dates, and license information, and assisting in developing strategies for software consolidation, licensing compliance, and cost reduction. Analysis of business processes, data flows, and operational reporting is also a part of this position.
